Soroush Dabiri
Soroush Dabiri is a full-time visual artist; painter and designer, living and working in Toronto / Waterloo, Canada. Soroush's academic background, including MFA in Visual Arts, BA in Painting, and Postgraduate Diploma in Graphic Design and Motion Graphics, have influenced and enriched his artistic practices. His paintings have been represented through varied galleries in the context of solo and group exhibitions inside and outside of Canada. Soroush is a member of Ontario Society of Artists and his art has been selected and awarded several times through juried exhibitions. Through his art creation, Soroush reflects a sensation of nature through creating interconnected forms inspired by the idea of diversity and biological balance in the ecosystem and human society. In addition to applying traditional art supplies, Soroush is passionate about including visual and material aspects of formalism in his art expanding his creation to include various ways of handling the many different mediums and applicators on diverse bases.
JICB
JICB is an Ecuadorian-born artist who immigrated at an early age, residing in Kitchener since his teens. Growing up across places his work focuses on the self, what it means to be in relation, and the common experience of endings being a fundamental part of living.
Connor Rothe
Connor Rothe (b. 2001, Waterloo) is a visual artist based in Toronto. He explores painting through his experience with derealization (a dissociative disorder that makes one feel mentally detached from their surroundings). His paintings are both photographic and blurry. In this, he attempts to straddle the line between real and unreal. Painted in acrylic with an airbrush, there is no physical connection between the artist and canvas/ground. The lack of physicality, both in the process and effect of airbrushing, relates to the work's disconnect.
Tatiana Nikolaeva
Tatiana Nikolaeva, a visual artist from Kitchener. Tatiana draws inspiration from real life, using oil paints to achieve truthful colour blends. Her latest series, "Landmarks of the Region of Waterloo," captures significant local sites, created primarily outdoors. Tatiana values seeing the world from a less cluttered perspective and appreciates small details. Her work ranges from bright, lively landscapes to quieter, more intimate scenes, showcasing her unique artistic vision.
Brianna Burnell
Brianne Burnell is a mixed media artist based in Kitchener, Ontario. Her work is intuitive, experimental, and full of colour, involving messy and playful methods like cutting, tearing, stamping, and rolling. Brianne's creative process includes painting dynamic collage materials and layering them with paint and other media to create depth and magic. She lets the work unfold naturally, embracing the unexpected "happy accidents" and accepting imperfection. Her compulsive need to create art comes from deep within, serving as her best tool to combat anxiety, process emotions, and feel seen.
Tom Nguyen
Born in Hamilton, raised in Toronto, and primarily brought up in the Kitchener Area, Thompson is a recent graduate with a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts Studio from the University of Waterloo. Engaging in various artistic mediums like graphic design, woodworking, drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, and installation, he has showcased his creativity. In 2023, he participated in the "IDK It Lights Up Or Something Tech Art Exhibition," a collaboration between Fine Arts and Engineering students, where they presented their final piece titled "Pick up the fackin' phone." In 2024, Thompson presented his solo creation "Blossom and Sunshine" at the Nexus Exhibition at the University of Waterloo Art Gallery. Inspired by Art Nouveau and the Japanese Artist Marumiyan, his work depicted architectural elements, floral motifs, and human forms. Deeply moved by his university classmates' personal stories and their shared experiences, Thompson has been capturing their connections through portraits.
Trevor Clare
Trevor Clare, is a visionary artist hailing from Kitchener, Ontario. He finds inspiration in painting local hidden gems and landmarks and enjoys delving into various subjects, styles, as well as drawing techniques from traditional oils and acrylics. Fusing them with contemporary digital art. Rapid brushwork and a fusion of expressionist and digital techniques define his distinctive approach. Trevor's art thrives on emotional connection, evoking a sense of "neo-nostalgia" through the masterful use of colors and light that weave compelling moods and atmospheres. Each artwork tells a captivating story, inviting viewers on a journey of cherished memories and heartfelt experiences.
Blair Kelly
Blair's work is characterized by bold, graphic and conceptual elements, crafted both digitally and traditionally. His creative process aims to develop original imagery that captivates the viewer's mind, offering fresh perspectives on abstract concepts.
Frances Hillary
Frances studied English literature and Art history at McGill university before teaching a year in Italy where she fell in love with design. A graduate of environmental design at the Ontario college of art and design, Frances works as an interior designer when she is not doing art. Her work is heavily influenced by the color and texture of her design world. Her work is in private collections across Canada, the US, the Middle East, the UK and part of the public collection at the Canadian Mental Health Association.
